Inactivated vaccine,
progressive and non progressive swine atrophic rhinitis,
in injectable emulsion
Description

COMPOSITION:

Inactivated Bordetella bronchiseptica; recombinant type D Pasteurella multocida toxin (PMTr). Aqueous adjuvant based on aluminium hydroxide, DEAD-dextran and Ginseng.

INDICATIONS:

Swine: To prevent progressive and non progressive atrophic rhinitis.
For the passive protection of piglets via colostrum after active immunisation of sows and gilts to reduce the clinical signs and lesions of progressive and non progressive atrophic rhinitis, as well as to reduce weight loss associated with Bordetella bronchiseptica and Pasteurella multocida infections during the fattening period.
Challenge studies have demonstrated that passive immunity lasts until piglets are 6 weeks of age while in clinical field trials, the beneficial effects of vaccination (reduction in nasal lesion score and weight loss) are observed until slaughter.

SIDE EFFECTS:

A sporadic anaphylactic reaction may appear in some sensitive animals. In such a case administer an antihistaminic.

ADMINISTRATION ROUTE:

Intramuscular.
Administer the vaccine at a room temperature between +15 and +25 ºC
Shake before use.

DOSAGE:

Swine: 2 ml/sow.
Generally, the following vaccination programme is recommended:
The basic vaccination scheme consists of two doses. The first dose between 6 and 8 weeks before farrowing and a second dose between 3 and 4 weeks before farrowing.
Revaccination is conducted on each subsequent gestation, administering one dose 3 weeks before the expected date of farrowing.
