Interchem's history

In 1968, the company was purchased by Irish Sugar a semi state company which was privatised in 1991 and became known as Greencore plc. In 2007, Pat O’Callaghan and Gerard Perry lead an MBO of Interchem. The company initially employed 12 people, the majority of whom are still employed by Interchem. Today, the company employs 30 and operates from a premises in Cookstown Industrial Estate, Dublin, a very accessible location from all parts of the country and a well-positioned distribution hub.

After 50 years in existence, Interchem is a well-recognised brand within the Irish agriculture and animal health sector. Since 2007, the business has expanded through both acquisitions and organic growth. It has expanded its business into complementary sectors of the animal health market by acquiring Pharvet in 2011 and Farrell Vet supplies in 2013. The company has exclusive distribution agreements with key global manufacturers and has a range of its own brands.
Interchem’s adaptability to change in this ever-evolving market, ideally places them to meet the demands of the entire Irish veterinary market - providing the right solutions, to the right hands, at the right time.
